Gary-ism #24: "Freedom isn't Free!"

Gary-ism #24 (“Freedom isn’t ‘Free’!”)

Short Version: The GOD of the Universe, Creator of Everything, has a poster on His wall that says, If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If not, it wasn’t meant to be.” Ironically, this is also the answer to the question: “Why does a God of Love allow evil and suffering in the World?”

Long Version: I had a poster on my bedroom wall when I was a teen. It said, If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If not, it wasn’t meant to be.” I did not realize at that time that that poster contained a secret of the Universe!

GOD has the same poster on His wall!  This thought answers the most difficult question we Earthlings often ask: “Why does a God of Love allow evil and suffering?” Paradoxically, evil and suffering are actually a result of “True Love”!

The GOD of the Universe, Creator of Everything, believes in the poster on His wall, for He knows there can be no “True Love” without the freedom to choose not  to love. Sadly, for Him and for us, many have made that choice to reject GOD’s Love.*

*I am aware that answering this question leads to other questions—primarily “Why does this have to go on for so long?” The only answer I have found to this, also difficult, question is from the Apostle Peter:

“Don’t overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.”

~ 2 Peter 3:8-9, The Message
